MQO Research spoke with 400 residents of Newfoundland and Labrador about their plans to purchase cannabis once it becomes legal and how they planned to make their purchase.
In Newfoundland, 22 percent of respondents would consider to purchasing cannabis once legal:
There were regional, gender, and age divides in the province.
Here are the regional numbers for those who are very likely or somewhat likely to purchase cannabis:
More males are considering purchasing cannabis than women once legal: 25 percent of males and 19 percent of females.
Those under 55 are more open to purchasing cannabis than those over 55:
Finally, we asked those who were very or somewhat likely to purchase cannabis if they planned to do so in person or online:
Data collection occurred by telephone from April 21st to May 9th, 2018 and included 400 randomly selected residents from across the province. The margin of error is ± 4.9 percentage points 19 times out of 20.
